Smartphone Tracking Software Investigation

The attorneys at Tycko & Zavareei are highly experienced class action attorneys. We’re currently investigating complaints about secret tracking software installed on certain smartphones. The program, called Carrier IQ, may allow your wireless provider to record a user’s highly personal activities and data on his or her phone. In other words, your phone may be gathering intelligence on you, which it then may pass to your wireless company without your knowledge or consent.

Samsung has already admitted that certain of its phones have the program, and AT&T and T-Mobile have admitted that the program is on at least some of their phones as well.

Recent investigations indicate that the following smartphones may have tracking software installed:

  • HTC Amaze 4G
  • HTC Sensation 4G
  • Samsung Galaxy S II
  • Samsung Exhibit II 4G
  • T-Mobile myTouch by LG
  • T-Mobile myTouch Q by LG
  • LG DoublePlay

In addition, many other Android devices may be affected as well.

If you own any of the above phones, or any Android phone, and you are concerned that your wireless company may be secretly gathering information about you, please contact us. We may be able to test your phone, free of charge, to see if the Carrier IQ software is installed.
