D.C. Court of Appeals Hears Oral Arguments in Twin Towers Plaza Tenants Association, Inc. v. Capitol Park Associates, L.P. & Capital Park Apartments, L.P.

In April of 2003, Tycko & Zavareei LLP (along with co-counsel at Mehri & Skalet, PLLC) brought suit under the D.C. Rental Housing Conversion and Sale Act on behalf of the tenants of the Capital Park and Twin Towers apartment buildings in Southwest, D.C., challenging the legality of a type of transaction which has come to be known as a “95-5” sale. On November 16, 2005, the District of Columbia Court of Appeals heard oral argument in the case. This is the first case challenging the legality of a “95-5” sale to reach the District’s highest court.
