Tycko & Zavareei attorneys work hard to hold banks and credit unions accountable to treat their customers fairly and lawfully. Over the years, we have sued a number of these financial institutions over their various deceptive and unfair practices involving overdraft fees, insufficient funds fees, and other penalties. We have recovered hundreds of millions of dollars in bank fee repayments to class members through our litigation. In a recent case we changed a banking practice at Bank of America that saved its customers $1.2 billion. So, we understand how many banks behave even in the best of times. We are now worried about how banks treated their customers when times got tough.
In light of the COVID-19 pandemic and resulting economic hardship, and at the request of the Federal and State governments, many banks and credit unions promised to provide relief for customers affected by the crisis. We hope they kept those promises. However, based on our experience, that may not be the case.
If you have requested relief from one of the banks or credit unions identified below (for overdraft and/or insufficient funds fees) and did not receive it (or were not able to contact the institution), we want to hear from you.
Everyone has been affected in one way or another by this crisis, and it is the responsibility of banks and credit unions to keep their promises to their customers.
If you needed help, reached out to one of the banks above, and were denied assistance, we want to hear from you. Please provide your information in the form below. An attorney will review your submission and may contact you about your experience.
We look forward to hearing from you.
