Why Tycko & Zavareei LLP?

Joining Tycko & Zavareei LLP means I can continue to help serve the public interest and help protect communities that can often be taken advantage of or forgotten.

Before joining Tycko & Zavareei LLP, Terrence practiced criminal defense at the Public Defender Service for D.C. (PDS) for ten years. While at PDS, he represented both juvenile and adult clients as lead counsel in serious felony cases through all stages of the criminal court process, including at arraignments, preliminary hearings, trials, and sentencings. He has significant experience litigating substantive pretrial motions related to discovery, forensics, and evidentiary issues. Terrence was a supervisor at PDS for three years, and he supervised lawyers in trials and motion hearings. Terrence has trained new classes of lawyers as part of PDS’s training program. He has also trained members of the CJA panel.

During his first year at PDS, he argued an appellate case before the D.C. Court of Appeals, In re K.G., 178 A.3d 1213 (D.C. 2018). In a matter of first impression, the Court of Appeals reversed the trial court‘s ruling and granted his client relief.

Prior to joining PDS, Terrence was a judicial law clerk for the Hon. Pamela J. White of the Baltimore City Circuit Court. Terrence graduated cum laude from Washington and Lee University School of Law. He graduated manga cum laude from Virginia Tech with a B.A. in political science.
