MARCH 2023. Tycko & Zavareei LLP is proud to announce that Andrea R. Gold has been elevated to equity partner. Ms. Gold, a two-time graduate of the University of Michigan, has spent her legal career advocating for consumers, employees, and whistleblowers with skill and dedication.
“Andrea has been key to the growth and success of the firm over the past 16 years,” Hassan Zavareei said. “She is a phenomenal lawyer, and I am elated that she has elected to join as an equity partner.”
Ms. Gold graduated from the University of Michigan Law School in 2004 after receiving her undergraduate degree from the same university in 2001. She began her legal career at TZ shortly thereafter and quickly established herself as a zealous advocate for her clients and a leader among her peers. Over the years she has handled numerous complex cases for the firm, including through trial, earning recognition from The National Trial Lawyers, Top 100 Civil Plaintiff Lawyers in 2020 and multiple selections to the Super Lawyers and Super Lawyers Rising Stars lists. A seasoned and creative litigator, Ms. Gold has recovered hundreds of millions of dollars for millions of class members nationwide in hard-fought high-stakes cases against the country’s largest banks, technology companies, consumer product manufacturers, and insurance companies, such as Uber, Sharp Electronics Corporation, Navy Federal Credit Union, and Farmers Insurance company. Ms. Gold also maintains an active False Claims Act practice; for instance, she represented a whistleblower in a healthcare fraud case that resulted in a $350 million recovery, one of the largest settlements ever won in a kickback case.
Ms. Gold has devoted her career to helping those who need it most. She started her legal career as a Skadden Fellow representing domestic violence survivors and she has continued to fight for underrepresented communities in her work at TZ. In the past two years, she has won two ground-breaking class certification decisions in debtor’s prison cases involving the unconstitutional treatment of incarcerated individuals by two municipalities outside of St. Louis, Missouri.
“It has been a true honor and privilege to work alongside some of the finest lawyers in the plaintiffs’ bar and help build TZ into an elite progressive and diverse firm with offices across the country,” Ms. Gold stated. “I am thrilled to continue our firm’s hard work to obtain justice for our clients in this new leadership role.”
TZ is proud to have had Ms. Gold on its team since 2006, first as an associate attorney, then a partner, and now as an equity partner. Her hard work and dedication throughout almost 17 years have been essential to helping the firm succeed in its mission to protect consumers, employees, and whistleblowers alike while bringing justice against those who seek to exploit them or violate their rights under federal law or state law.
“Adding new equity partners is a key element to any law firm’s long-term stability and health, and I’m so glad that the firm that Hassan and I started more than 20 years ago is now owned in part by Andrea, who is such a high-caliber person in all respects,” added Jonathan Tycko.
The entire team at Tycko & Zavareei LLP looks forward to continuing their partnership with Ms. Gold as she takes on this new role as equity partner.
