18 July 2024. The United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania has granted motions to consolidate 17 related cases for pre-trial and discovery purposes in the matter of a significant data breach involving Financial Business and Consumer Solutions, Inc. (FBCS). The data breach has impacted approximately 2.7 million individuals, compromising highly sensitive personal information collected by FBCS from the Plaintiffs and Class Members.
In response to the consolidation, Partner Katherine M. Aizpuru of Tycko & Zavareei LLP has been appointed to the Plaintiffs’ Executive Committee.
“We are committed to seeking justice for the millions of individuals affected by this data breach,” said Ms. Aizpuru. “Our goal is to hold FBCS accountable for the breach and to ensure that such incidents do not happen in the future.”
The consolidated multidistrict litigation represents a unified effort to address the severe privacy violations suffered by the affected individuals and to seek appropriate remedies under the law.
The consolidated case is Reichbart v. Financial Business and Consumer Solutions, Inc., No. 24-cv-1876-NIQA in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
