March 7, 2024. In the consolidated class action lawsuit filed against HealthEC, a New Jersey-based population health management platform, the Court appointed a Plaintiffs’ Executive Committee (PEC) to manage the case.
Sabita J. Soneji was selected for that Executive Committee and will also lead Offensive Discovery in the litigation. The class action lawsuit stems from a significant breach of HealthEC’s computer systems, which occurred between July 14 and July 23, 2023. Malicious actors gained access to HealthEC’s systems and obtained patients’ sensitive financial and medical records. The company began notifying impacted individuals on or around December 22, 2023. The revelation of this breach has not only raised questions about the security measures at HealthEC but also wider implications for patient data privacy.
