Glen Grayson, et al. v. General Electric Company, Case No.: 3:13-cv-01799-WWE in the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut
The United States District Court for the District of Connecticut approved a class action settlement concerning certain GE-branded microwave ovens. The models in question begin with JEB1090, JEB1095, ZMC1090, or ZMC1095 (manufactured between 1995 and 2007). Tycko & Zavareei LLP was appointed to as settlement class counsel.
Settlement Benefits
Eligible Class Members who have incurred the spontaneous breakage or shattering of the glass on the door of their covered microwave oven could receive $300 upon submitting a valid claim form accompanied by the required documentation.
Those Class Members who have not experienced a breakage but submit a valid claim form could have claimed one of the following:
- A $5 payment if they still own the affected microwave, or
- A $5 rebate certificate for the purchase of a GE microwave oven if they no longer have the appliance.
